Source selection
We prioritize manufacturer documentation, owner guides, public service descriptions, and government or utility information when it is relevant. Dealer-specific prices are not presented as nationwide prices. Sources used for a guide are listed on that page.
Planning ranges
A planning range is an educational comparison tool, not a bid. We separate equipment, labor, plumbing, setup, warranty, maintenance, rental, financing, and optional treatment whenever the available information supports that distinction. Local conditions can move a reasonable quote above or below a broad range.
Rental and service calculations
Recurring offers are compared over matching periods, normally 36 and 60 months. Formulas include setup, delivery, required options, rate changes, cancellation, buyout, maintenance, and ownership when those terms apply. Worked examples are illustrations only and should be replaced with numbers from the homeowner's written quote.
Review and corrections
Guides display a review date and are updated when the scope, source material, formulas, or important homeowner questions change. Readers can report a factual issue through the contact page. Corrections should preserve the distinction between public information, illustrative calculations, and exact local quotes.

We do not determine local prices or accuse providers of overcharging. Homeowners should compare itemized written quotes and use qualified local professionals for project-specific advice.
